While I tend to prefer investing in businesses with a long history of rising dividends, there are some companies that I believe still make attractive investments for the long haul. Marketing and communications giant Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC) boosted its quarterly dividend 9% or 5 cents to 60 cents per share.
While OMC and other such stocks have taken a beating recently, I still think the Company is an attractive hold and I am taking the 15% drop in price since I first made mention of the stock on November 30th 2016 in stride. As at the close of business on October 16th, OMC is changing hands for less than 15 times future earnings.

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (NYSE: CHD), my favorite consumer goods company, just split its stock two for one on September 2…its fourth stock split since 1999.

PACCAR (NYSE: PCAR) is one of the largest manufacturers of premium light, medium, and heavy duty vehicles in the world. However, the Company thinks of itself as a technology business involved in truck manufacturing…truck or technology, I believe PACCAR offers good long-term value for investors.
